On 17 January 2023, the (European Chemicals Agency) announced the addition of 9 new substances to the Candidate List as Substance of Very High Concern (SVHC) under REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.
These chemicals are used in flame retardants, paints and coatings, inks and toners, coating products, plasticisers and in the manufacture of pulp and paper, and are considered as having hazardous properties.
The Candidate List of SVHC now contains 233 entries for chemicals that could be harmful to people or the environment.
